I successfully defended my PhD thesis in June 2020. I studied machine learning in the Computer Science department at the University of Southern California. My research was on machine learning interpretability under the advisement of Prof. Yan Liu. I am extremely fortunate to have worked with wonderful collaborators Dehua Cheng, Hanpeng Liu, Sanjay Purushotham, and many more. I am also grateful for advice from research organizations at IBM Watson, Intel, and Facebook. My PhD studies originally started in the field of human-robot interaction with Prof. Maja Matarić and Prof. Stefan Scherer. That experience and others helped me realize my interests.
My primary motivation is developing technologies that can greatly assist people.
