Childhood
My home is in Mexico but my motherland is China. My official name follows the orders in the
Spanish world, i.e. given name, father's family name, and mother's family name.
I was born in China and immigrated to Mexico when I was eight. I had three years of elementary school in China, and continued up to high school in Mexico. Therefore, both Chinese and Spanish are my native languages.
Undergraduate
I had my college education in the College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona. I went to the school because the University of Arizona offered me a full scholarship. Therefore, I had free college education for four years.
I graduated in 2008 with honors. I obtained the B.S. in Optical Sciences and Engineering along with two minors in Physics and Mathematics.
In addition I received the following awards:
- 2004-2008 International Undergraduate Scholarship
- 2006 International Hall of Fame University of Arizona (see the news)
- 2006 SPIE International Educational Scholarship
- 2007 SPIE International Educational Scholarship
- 2007-2008 Jack D. Gaskill Scholarship
Graduate
On Fall 2008, I was admitted to the Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering in Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California. The USC Viterbi School of Engineering offered me an Annenberg Graduate fellowship for four years (link to Annenberg). I am currently following courses for the screening, while conducting research in both Professor Willner's lab and Professor Steier's lab.
