Datasets I am working on:

SSAPUR: I am working on the data from 2000 Sample Survey of Aged Population in Urban and Rural (SSAPUR), a national survey conducted by China Research Center on Aging in 2000. The second wave of data collected in 2006 will be ready for use in the near future. I look specifically on health and health care access among the Chinese elders. The key question I would like to ask is how the health inequality is among the Chinese elderly population and which factors contribute to that situation.

CHNS: China Health and Nutrition Survey is a 9-province survey conducted by the Population Center in the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill from 1989 to 2006 . I use this longitudinal data to examine the ecological effects of local community on health status change among the Chinese elders. One key question I would like to get answer from this dataset is if where the elder lives has an impact on their health in the long run.
