Women in Cinema Events

To promote women in the film industry, Women in Cinema sponsors events that showcase the work of women as well as lectures that pass down salient advice from successful women in Hollywood to eager young film students at USC.  To launch our group as a presence on the USC campus, we combined both these events--a screening and a lecture--into one night with the talented editor of "Grey's Anatomy," hosted by our founder Seema Naik and cinema-television professor Dr. Jennifer Holt.

Our Inaugural Event: Screening and Q&A of "Grey's Anatomy" Editor

For our first event, Women in Cinema hosted an evening with USC Alumna Susan Vaill, the editor of the hit television show "Grey's Anatomy."  Here is a summary of the night's proceedings:

Saturday, April 1st, 6:00 pm at Norris Theatre on USC Campus:

A Night with Susan Vaill, editor of "Grey's Anatomy"

  • Hosted by WIC's 2005-2006 President and Founder Seema Naik

  • Screening of an episode of "Grey's Anatomy"

  • Question and Answer session with Susan Vaill, editor of "Grey's Anatomy," moderated by Cinema-Television Professor Dr. Jennifer Holt

  • Reception: free food and drinks!
