David Nathan Weissglass
I am a third year planning student in USC’s Sol Price School of Public Policy. I want to influence the development of the built environment so as to improve the human experience. I care about improving the design of public urban spaces—streets, sidewalks, plazas, etc.—as well as working on transit connections and zoning codes to increase urban livability. I believe that a well-designed public realm has countless benefits in regards to economic sustainability, public health, general safety, and productivity. I agree with Landscape Architect John Nolen that cities should strive for convenience, comfort, orderliness, and beauty, and I plan to contribute towards these ends as best I can.
I am simultaneously working towards my B.S. in Policy, Planning and Development and my Master’s in Planning (MPl), both of which I will have obtained by the end of Spring 2015. I have studied GIS systems, urban transportation and architecture. I have experience in both the public and private sectors (see resume below), and I have very good interpersonal skills.
I was born in raised in Holmdel, New Jersey. My hobbies and pastimes include coaching youth basketball and playing piano. I’m an avid fan of NBA basketball, particularly the New York Knicks—I know disappointment all too well.
