Short Bio and My Likes

My name is Wei Jiang and I am from Guangzhou, China. Currently, I am a Ph.D student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering in Brooklyn, NY. I received a Bachelor degree in computer science from Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT) in China, and a Master in computer science from the University of Southern California (USC) in US.

In general, I am a so Southern California(SoCal) like people but not so New Yorker like.

I like doing research and my current research area is Information Retrieval & Web Search. I am currently developing a search engine prototype called polyIRToolkit for research.

I like arguing with my prof about research but being nice to people around when lives.

I like playing sports such as pool, basketball, american football, table tennis, swimming and badminton (Mostly in NYU Coles Sports Center).

I like listening to music such as pop, rock, club dance and jazz.

I am a big sport fan in NBA Brooklyn Nets, NCAA USC Trojans football and NFL NY Giants football.

The people I admire most currently are my academic advisor Torsten Suel, my mother Wei Huang 黄为 and my best old friend Juan Rodriguez. Without them, there are no me.

I usually put my feelings into my Facebook page @ https://www.facebook.com/wj382

My friends describe me as an outgoing and humorous people, like making new friends. So if you find sth common between you and me, just send me an email and we can arrage sth fun

A not so complete list of my labmates include Maria Christoforaki, Constantinos Dimopoulos, Bluma Gottesman-Gelley, Tehila Minkus, Sergey Nepomnachiy, Juan Rodriguez and Qi Wang
