“Investing should be like watching paint dry or watching grass grow. If you want excitement…go to Las Vegas.” - Paul Samuelson
Cash, in itself, is a terrible investment. If your government prints too much of it, it may become worthless. If your contry has unstable socioeconomic and political conditions, the worth of your money may be subject to sharp volatility. Moreover, the real value of your money will always be worth the value that is printed in the note. For instance, in real terms, $1 US bill today will still be wroth $1 tomorrow. Point is, your cash is not going to get any more valuable than it currently is.
So how do you put your savings to work? Invest. Invest in the stock market, real estate or in a productive asset which will appreciate over time and provide you with a stream of cash flows. Investing, for this reason, is very important. As without it, you are foregoing a hoard of riches that could come to you.
