When first starting to play any instrument, don't overdo it!  Practice for about 15 minutes for the first couple of weeks.  Slowly your muscles (Yes, you use muscles to play!) and your playing endurance will grow stronger so you can play longer without wearing yourself out.

Clarinet students of all ages and levels are encouraged to study privately. A private teacher can show you correct playing practices and alternate fingerings.

You can locate a private clarinet teacher by calling your local music stores, calling your local University Music Department (some Universities have a list of private teachers in the area), ask friends if they recommend anyone, or search on the web.

One of the most important lessons about playing any musical instrument is always remember to HAVE FUN!
