I am a current graduate student in Hispanic Linguistics at USC, and expect to complete my PhD program in 2012.

My primary linguistic field is theoretic phonology, with an emphasis in Spanish and other Romance languages. My most recent theoretical research examines vowel hiatus within the context of syntax-phonology and morphology-phonology interfaces. I am also currently exploring phonetic correlates of the syntax-phonology interface in Spanish vowel hiatus. Other projects include a corpus-based sociolinguistic study on the historical development of the Spanish second person pronoun Usted from historic Vuestra merced, and a theoretical phonological view of templatic hypocoristics of Hebrew and English.

Non-academic interests include medieval cooking, bellydance, traveling, board games and fiction.
