Course Description

Race Day Timeline:

5:15-6:00 am - Limited packet pick-up
5:30-6:45 am - Transition is open, pick up timing chips
6:30-9:30 am - Parking lot closed for the race.
7:00-10:30 am - Race starts

USAT rules will be enforced at this race. A list of commonly broken rules can be found here.

 

The swim will be cancelled because of hazardous ocean conditions. The race will now be a DUATHLON.

 

Run Course I

The 2.5 mile run is an out-and-back along the beachfront houses. Racers follow a beach path out of transition to Sunset, then cones to cut over onto Ocean Ave to the park at the end of the road, U-turn at the street South of Los Feliz (marked with volunteers and cones), and come back to the park using the same route. While on the run course, always run on the LEFT side of the designated running lane. Runners will enter transition from the West side.

 

Bike Course

The course is TWO loops, and takes you a total of 15 miles of flat road. Racers will
start by riding out of the parking lot and taking a left onto Harbor Blvd, then continuing
and taking a right on Gonzalez Rd, right on Victoria Ave, and right on 5th St. Once you
get back to 5th St at the end of the first lap, turn right on Harbor to continue for a second
lap. At the end of the second lap, turn left onto Harbor to head back into the parking lot
for the finish. When traveling on Harbor, you will ride on the LEFT (western) lane going
north until you hit 5th St, and coming back from the second loop, you will ride on the
LEFT (eastern) lane going into transition. On the loop, the roads will be open to cars
with a designated shoulder for the bike, so please ride inside the cones when riding the
loop.

Run Course II

The 4 mile run is an out-and-back along the beachfront houses. Racers follow a beach
path out of transition to Sunset, then racers will follow the cones to cut over onto Ocean
Ave to the park at the end of the road, U-turn, and come back to the park using the
same route. While on the run course, always run on the LEFT side of the designated
running lane. The run will finish in the center of the beautiful Oxnard Beach Park.


All Oxnard Shores Residents:

To go northbound, take Mandalay Beach Road to 5th Street, make the right hand turn, then at the light, turn left (northbound) onto Harbor Blvd.

To go eastbound, take Wooley Road to exit the Shores.

To go southbound, take Wooley Road to exit the Shores, turn right on Victoria.
