USC SIAM STUDENT CHAPTER

Wednesday, September 29, 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm, KAP 265
Latex Tutorial Session
(following Math tea at KAP 248)
Presented by: Nathan Glatt-Holtz, Igor Cialenco

USC Student Chapter of SIAM gave a short LaTeX tutorial for students in the Math department and other related technical fields. The aim was to try to provide a base for the beginner to write his or her own documents from scratch. We provided instructions for installation and compilation and an overview of the philosophy of the language. A sample document was distributed as well as a good general reference detailing much of the available symbols and formating available. The Chapter hopes to hold further tutorial sessions in the future to provide students with information about other technical resources and skills.
