Current Event Week 1 - Teacher layoffs are important because students will not have teachers to teach crucial subjects, which may lead to them not being prepared for the next grade level.

Current Event Week 3 - Critical changes may take place in LAUSD if the Mayor gains control over the schools, which affects students, teachers, and other citizens.

Journal 2 - This journal was written when I first began to decide whether I should aspire to become a teacher. I was constantly going back and forth in the decision making process because there are other careers that I would like to pursue.
 
Journal 5 - Through writing this journal, I was able to reflect on the current disparities in education between students in urban schools and those in suburban schools. Reality is, this problem continues to exist, and more has to be done to eliminate this disparity in education.

Journal 13 - Service learning and volunteering help a student go beyond the confines of the classroom to learn more about the community and the affect it has on education.
