TENTATIVE SCHEDULE OF USC TURKSA ACTIVITIES
Fall Semester, 2002

 

1. Welcome to New Students
Date: Tuesday, August 20, 2002.
Time: 4:30-6:30pm. Place: Founders Park

We will be joining The Fall 2002 International Student Reception. You will feel the positive difference of our association in this first event. Get ready for the surprises!! We will provide a handbook that contains tips for newcomers and information about our events. Delicious Turkish treats will be served. Detailed information about our events in this semester will be given.

2. Backgammon Tournament
Date: Starting from Monday, September 9,2002
Time: 11:00am. Place: Hahn Plaza (in front of Tommy Trojan).

Backgammon is one of the oldest games, dating back some 5000 years. It's a game of skill and luck. When you win, you can claim that it's due to your good skill. When you lose, you can claim that it's due to your bad luck. Delicious Turkish desserts and Turkish coffee will be served free to all players. More than 10 awards for prizes! Limited space! 3.International Soccer Tournament
Date: Starting from Saturday, October 5, 2002

4. Fall Picnic
Date: Sunday, October 13, 2002.
Time: 11:00am - 4:00 pm
Place: USC Campus, Parkside Residence - Open Space

This will be the best picnic in Los Angeles! Fresh air, lovely and friendly atmosphere! Delicious kebabs, musical performances, soccer matches, backgammon tournament and suprises. Everyone is invited! E-mail: turksa@usc.edu for details!

5. International Food Fair

7. Iftar in Holy Ramadan
Date: Saturday, November 9, 2002
Time: 4:00 pm. Place: USC Religious Center Room 108

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Abstaining from eating, drinking between dawn and dusk is simply the means to attain the spiritual experience, but it is certainly not the ends. Each Ramadan brings new insights and meanings for the faithful. We will have “iftar” in the first Saturday of Ramadan. E-mail: turksa@usc.edu for details!
