Synopsis:

A Turkish man, whose wife died while giving birth to his son during a military coup, finally returns home. Estranged from his father for turning his back on the family farm, he takes his 8 year-old son and tries to repair relations.

Ten years after the stunning box office success of "The Bandit" now comes "My Father and My Son", the first Turkish movie to draw 3.5 million visitors with only 55 copies in circulation.

It cannot be denied that, despite its limited promotion budget, the film has conquered the hearts of millions of spectators because of its genuine cinematographic qualities and fantastic performances of the cast.

The film embodies a manifesto in the motion picture industry and proves that a "good" movie can smash all viewing figures, even without a million-euro promotion budget.

The secret of the movie lies in the fact that it reminds the spectators, regardless of their age, of the importance of family.
