Self-Defense

One-Step: a) Avoid punches by stepping out of the way in different directions (into basic stances- front & horse riding), apply all basic blocks and finish with a strike & kihap

b) Same as above but finish with a kick

Grabs: a) Spinning out of front/back neck chokes but trap opponent and finish with strike

b) Getting out of wrist grabs

Sparring Step Drills

-         Switch Legs, back leg roundhouse

-         Step in side kick

-         double roundhouse

Free Sparing

No Contact Sparring:

-Three step sparring (Three kicks, one hand technique and kihap)

Rhythm: 1-2-3-4-(5-6)-7-8-9-10-(11-12)-13-14-15-16-17-18

 

  1. From choonbi stance, turn right 90 degrees into a left walking stance low block.
  2. Step forward into a right walking stance middle punch.
  3. Turn 180 degrees to the right into a right walking stance low block.
  4. Step forward into a left walking stance middle punch.
  5. Turn left 90 degrees into a left front stance low block.
  6. From the same stance, execute a right middle punch.
  7. Move your right leg forward, then turn 90 degrees to the right into a right walking stance with a left out-to-in middle block.
  8. Step forward into a left walking stance with a right middle punch.
  9. Turn 180 degrees to the left into a left walking stance with a right out-to-in middle block.
  10. Step forward into a right walking stance with a left middle punch.
  11. Turn 90 degrees to the right into a right front stance low block.
  12. From the same stance, execute a left middle punch.
  13. Move your left leg forward, then turn 90 degrees to the left into a left walking stance high block.
  14. Execute a right front snap kick, stepping down in front into a right walking stance middle punch.
  15. Turn 180 degrees to the right into a right walking stance high block.
  16. Execute a left front snap kick, stepping down in front into a left walking stance middle punch.
  17. Move your front leg 90 degrees to the right into a left front stance low block.
  18. Step forward  into a right front stance middle punch with KIHAP.

On instructor’s command, move left foot forward, then turn to the left into choonbi.
