Basics

Punches:  Upper Cut, Hook, Jab

Kicks: Hook Kick,  Step-in back Kick

Self-Defense

One-Step:

10) Fwd R stance w R out-to-in block. R elbow middle (solar-plexus) strike, reverse L step & L elbow high (head) strike.

11) Fwd-diagonal L horse-riding stance w R in-to-out knife-hand block & grab, extended L arm w palm on opponents elbow: L hand pushes elbow & R hand pulls (both hands also twist so opponents elbow faces upwards). L front kick to face. 

12)Same stance & block/grab as #11, R turning kick to stomach,(foot stays in the air, balance by holding w R hand) hook-kick to face followed by turning kick to face (all w same foot)

13) L diagonal walking stance, L over arm motion (swimming motion - elbow pointing up fingers pointing down)- to grab opponent's forearm between our elbow and trunk - w simultaneous R reverse step (this locks opponents elbow on our back). R elbow strike to the back, R back-fist (knuckles) strike to the back of the head, R hand goes over opponents head & locks his throat into elbow then pulls fwd w simultaneous sweep w R leg of opponents R leg. Downwards punch to the face.

Sparring Step Drills

-         Counter an attach w B leg roundhouse w a F leg roundhouse

-         F leg steps back, then does roundhouse (same leg)

-         Shift forward hook kick

Start getting exposed to Taeguek Yuk Jang and simultaneous block-strike techniques (as well as simultaneous double blocks). Start learning turning hook kick (turning reverse roundhouse). Keep practicing on back & side falls and rolls.

Rhythm: 1-2-3-4-(5-6)-7-8-9-10-(11-12)-13-14-15-16-17-18-19-20

 

From Joon Bi stance:

1.      Turn 90 degrees to the L with L leg to 9 o’clock and execute L down block front stance.

2.      Pull the L foot in, and execute L hammer fist.

3.      Turn 180 degrees to the R with R leg to 3 o’clock and execute R down block front stance.

4.      Pull the R foot in and execute R hammer fist

5.      T;urn 90 degrees to the L with L leg to 12 o’clock, and execute L out-to-in middle block with L front stance.  Immediately follow with R out-to-in middle block.

6.      Execute R front kick, and land forward to R front stance with R backfist to the sternum area.  Immediate follow with L out-to-in middle block.

7.      Execute L front kick, and land forward to L front stance with L backfist to the sternum area.  Immediately follow with R out-to-in middle block.

8.      Move forward with R leg, and execute R backfist to the sternum area with R front stance.

9.      Turn 270 degrees to the L with L leg to 3 o’clock, and execute L knifehand outside middle block with L back stance.

10.  Move forward with R leg, and execute R elbow strike to the rib area (L hand supporting the R fist) with R front stance.

11.  Turn 180 degrees R side with R leg to 9 o’clock and execute R knifehand outside middle block with R front stance.

12.  Move forward with L leg, and execute L elbow strike to the rib area (R hand supporting the L fist) with L front stance.

13.  Turn 90 degrees to the L with L leg  to 6 o’clock, and execute L down block with left front stance.  Immediately follow with right out-to-in middle block. 

14.  Execute R front kick, and land forward to R front stance with R down block.  Immediately follow with L out-to-in middle block.

15.  Turn 90 degrees to the L with L leg to  3 o’clock and execute L high block with L front stance.

16.  Execute R middle side kick and land forward to R front stance with L elbow strike (R hand pulling the imaginary opponent’s head towards the L elbow.)

17.  Turn 180 degrees to the R with R leg to 9 o’clock, and execute R high  block with R front stance.

18.  Execute L middle side kick, and land forward to L front stance with R elbow strike (L hand pulling the imaginary opponent’s head towards the  R elbow).

19.  Turn 90 degrees to the L with L leg to 6 o’clock, and execute L down block with L front stance.

20.  Execute R front kick and jump forward (spring off with the L leg) to R x/cross stance with R back fist to the face.  Gi-Up loudly & move L leg counterclockwise back to Joon Bi.
