General Information

Testing for belt promotion is held at the end of every semester (fall, spring, summer). One or two weeks before the testing date, instructors will email out invitations to test to students whom they feel are ready to advance to the next belt level.

Class attendance is a very important factor in deciding who will test. Generally, students who attend the majority of traditional classes will be invited.

The belt test also includes a short writing test. The writing test will examine a student's knowledge of Taekwondo techniques, forms, and terms.

Testing Requirements

The following requirements cover the majority of the material that will be tested during a belt test. This material will be covered in traditional classes throughout the semester. Additional material taught in class, not covered below, may also be included on the test.
