Clayton Barber, currently the assistant coach to the US national Taekwondo team, joined USC Taekwondo in early 2007 to coach its tournament team. His goal is to make the USC Taekwondo team the best collegiate team in the country.
Coach Clayton became a US national team member at the age of 18. He competed at the 1986 World University Games at the University of California, Berkeley and continued to compete at many other world competitions as part of the US national team until his retirement in 1996. During his career as an international Taekwondo competitor, he won more than 150 medals, including a gold medal at the North American Championships in 1986, a silver medal at the Taekwondo World Championships in 1995, and a gold medal at the US Open in 1995.
In addition to coaching Taekwondo, Coach Clayton has also been working as a Hollywood stuntsman since 1996.
