ACADEMIC PROJECTS

1. Study of Approach flow system and production of paper at Seshasayee Papers, India June 2007

The project involved basic studying and understanding of the paper making process in the mill

and the chemical processes involved in the flow of the pulp and pressure variations

2. Boiling heat transfer analysis during high heat transfer operations like quenching

and FEM simulation of thermal models in IIT, Madras May 2008

The project was based on boiling heat transfer and modeling of boiling heat transfer process

on the in-house developed FEM software (XFEM). It also involved lab work for calculation of

the boiling heat transfer coefficient involved in quenching.

3. Modeling and cost analysis and optimization of costs of methanol distillation towers August 2008

at Hetero Pharmaceuticals, India

The project was the part of an ongoing project for designing and modeling distillilation towers

for methanol- water and for the cost optimization and cost analysis of the tower using

optimization techniques.

4. Extraction of silver nanoparticles from bacteria for target drug delivery systems at BITS August 2007

Pilani Goa Campus.

The project was a lab based project on cultivation and breeding of bacteria for production of

silver nanoparticles, used for target drug delivery in the pharmaceutical industry

5) Propane fuel cell manufacture at the Loker Hydrocarbon Institute, University of Southern January 2010

California

The project can be summarized as a new novel way of creating fuel cell which use propane as the

fuel instead of hydrogen or methanol. The project is ongoing and I am proud to be part of the team that

embarked on this project.
