  Rush Form

What is rush?
Rush is a time where both fraternities and sororities host fun and informal events around campus to introduce you to their organization and members. These events are free and open to anyone curious about what Greek Life has to offer.

When is rush?
For Sigma Phi Omega, three rush events are held during the first two weeks of each fall semester. Please visit the rush schedule to see this year's events.

What is the cost of rush?
Rush is completely free for anyone interested or curious.

Do I have to attend every rush event?
No, but it is encouraged that you attend at least one event. If you cannot make it to any of our events but are still interested in our sorority, please contact any one of our rush chairs for more information.

Can I rush during the spring semester?
Sigma Phi Omega does not conduct a Spring rush. By having only one new class a year, we feel that the girls are able to form stronger bonds between not only their class, but also to all the sisters of the sorority. However, if you miss rush, we encourage you to come back to our rush the following fall semester.

Why rush?
Attending the rush events gives you a chance to meet the sisters of Sigma Phi Omega as well as other USC students. Rushes provide opportunities to meet your future friends and classmates in addition to a chance to mingle and eat some great free food. Rides will also be provided to all those interested so there is no need to worry about transportation.

Do I have to become a member if I rush?
There is absolutely no commitment to become a member of our sorority if you rush.

What are the requirements of becoming a new member?
The process of becoming a new member is a period of time where you learn about the history and traditions of our organization. You will be able to form close bonds with all the sisters of the sorority.

What is the time commitment?
It is up to you how much time you want to put into the process. It is often said that how much you get out of the experience is directly related to how much you put into it. We understand that you are here at USC to learn, and we will never ask you to place the sorority above academics or anything else that is of importance to you.

If you have any questions about rush, please don't hesitate to contact our rush chairs or fill out the rush form.
