This communication device can transmit up to 32 unique symbols from one computer to another computer
at a distance of 1 meter apart.
The design of this project consists of two main parts: the transmitter and the receiver. The communication
meathod is based on light source and light sensor. By reading the input at the input station, the transmitter
operates a mechanical device which blocks off light from the light senor on the receiver of the output station
at a specific time interval. Thus the data is sent across the stations.
For the software component, two pieces of software (transmitter and receiver) written in C Language are installed to the
communicating computers to control the transmission of data between the two computer stations. Handshaking
verification process is included in the software too. Error detection and correction are implemented in both
software and hardware.
