Graduate & Professional Student Senate (GPSS) Representative


Professional/Personal Attributes necessary for the position:

  • Interest in graduate/USC politics and events

School/Work Schedule needed for the position:

  • Need to have time for each SGA monthly meeting
  • MUST attend the GPSS monthly meeting

Position Description:

  • The GPSS Rep. is responsible for attending the monthly GPSS meeting (3 hours long).
  • The GPSS Rep. will be able to have one vote for issues (e.g., funding of events) at the mtgs.
  • Informational handouts must be passed along to gero students at the SGA meetings
  • Coordinate with the Secretary to have GPSS e-mails passed along to SGA list serve
  • Must join a GPSS committee and there is 1 outside
  • Help the Alumni Chair(s) at the GPSS meeting in which funding for the Alumni Dinner is requested
    • Make sure that the Alumni Chair and the President know when this meeting is, etc…
  • Ave. # of hours in the Fall: 13 (time spent at GPSS and SGA meetings)
  • In the Spring: 13 (time spent at GPSS and SGA meetings)
