What was Facing the Flame(FTF) and what our our goals now that the conference is over?

Our SDA group mission is to show our campuses students that their church cares for them by providing a welcoming community.

We would like similar SDA student communities to exist at all other public colleges and Universities
where SDA students attend. FTF was an ideal way to start a chain of outreach-first, of SDA students to other
SDA students, and second, to the campuses of these students.

There were 3 conference objectives:

1. To bring SDA students together from non-SDA college & university campuses in California

2. To address their current needs

3. To inspire them to be proactive in their spiritual health

All objectives where achieved!
FTF (and God) brought together a growing network of students who want to make a difference on their campuses.

How will this difference be made?

Within the regional church community we would like to continue to show the commitment of the church
to its young people. By bringing together SDA students it strengthens the body of Christ. This allows
friendships to be made, ideas to form, and cooperation to build.

FTF post conference goals:

1. We will link established groups on campuses and churches

2. We will start a database of contact information

3. We will meet quarterly to share activities, ideas, and plan annual conferences.

Our first post conference gathering was held on March 22nd, 4:00pm at the the Van Nuy's Church.
Please join us for our next meeting which will be held in May.

At this meeting we will discuss and follow through on our post conference goals. We would like to see you there regardless of whether you attended FTF. If you are interested or have any questions please contact us today!
