As a newly appointed State Director in 1993, I wanted to establish an opportunity for NIRSA professionals to meet with their colleges and participate in a fun event while at the same time raise funds for students. In 1993, the SoCal Scramble was implemented with 16 golfers, and the Tournaments have had tremendous growth over the past five years. Now, the Tournament sells out each year and provides an excellent environment for professionals and students to network and recreate. SoCal application for Region VI Conference

The NIRSA Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to offer NIRSA student members an opportunity to receive a scholarship, which covers registration to the 2004 NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Exposition in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
To be eligible for one of twelve NIRSA Foundation Scholarships the applicant must be a graduating senior or a graduate student in good standing with plans to pursue a career in recreational sports. Applicants will not be considered if they are a past scholarship recipient, their NIRSA membership has expired, or they are late in meeting the application deadline. The scholarship winner with the highest GPA will be designated the William Wasson Scholarship recipient. The NIRSA Foundation scholarships are supported in part by the William Wasson endowment and the NIRSA Foundation's Charter Corporate Partners:
In addition to the NIRSA Foundation Scholarships, proceeds from the annual SoCal Scramble Golf Tournament are donated to the NIRSA Foundation to fund two scholarships, which also cover registration to the 2008 NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Exposition. To be eligible the applicant must be a Region VI undergraduate or graduate student in good standing with plans to pursue a career in recreational sports. All eligible Region VI student members are encouraged to submit application forms for both scholarships.
All scholarship applicants must complete the application material and return eight sets postmarked on or before January 15, 2007 to:
