SPRING TRYOUTS

Spring Tryouts
will be held at Dedeaux Field on Saturday, January 24.  We have limited spots available due to the talent from many Fall returners.  Our goal this year is same as always - to win our Southern Pacific Conference and win the World Series in Florida.

What: USC Club Baseball Spring Tryouts

When: Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at 10:00am (check-in begins at 9:30)

Where
: Dedeaux Field on the USC campus

Why
: (not?) We have a few positions open for our Spring squad and are looking to fill those spots with dedicated and talented players

If you intend to tryout or know someone who is eager to play, please contact USC Club Baseball @
USCClubBaseball@yahoo.com and include a short player profile.

Even if you are not on the roster, we always appreciate support from our fans.  Games are exciting to watch, especially against USC rivals like UCLA and ASU.

Play ball!

USCCB travels to the University of Arizona this weekend to play the Wildcats' Club Baseball team, the day after the Trojan football team plays the Wildcats.

Fundraising

We are going to try something new for fundraising to supplement our dues.  I have been in contact with the Volunteer Center at USC, who is planning a
bike wash
on Thursdays from 12-4pm on campus.  Tomorrow, Thurs Oct. 23, we need a few players to help with the event.  USCCB will be able to take a cut of the profits.  The Volunteer Center is putting this on to raise money for alternative spring break trips (Thailand, Uganda, Mexico, etc.).

Congratulations to the new Fall 2008 squad!  Please see the roster for a full list of players.  We are looking forward to an exciting year with returns and newcomers.  Also note important dates and reoccurring events on the calendar in the schedule tab.

A series to look forward to... On October 24-26, we will return to Tucson, AZ to play the defending league champion Arizona Wildcats. This is the weekend of the USC-UA game, so we will watch the game as a team and then play a doubleheader on Sunday.

Fight On!
