Where: San Diego in La Jolla, CA

Hey hey,

Here's the 411 on the comp.

All 8 dances (waltz, tango, foxtrot, vienese waltz, cha cha, rhumba,
samba, jive) are offered in newcomer, bronze 1, bronze 2, silver and gold
levels. In addition, there are multi dance levels pre-nov, novice,
pre-champ and champ. If you don't know what mulit dance is, then you
probably don't want to compete in it. If you are unsure about what you
should compete in, talk to your captains! They'll be more than happy to
help you out.

Cost break down:

entry, hotel and spaghetti dinner- $75
entry and hotel - $67
spectator ticket, hotel and dinner - $55
spectator and hotel - $47

We were able to get a slight extention on entry deadlines, so you will
have until absolutely no later than Monday the 23rd to have your money
and entry requests turned in. An announcement will be made in class on
Wednesday and on Monday, and you can ask questions then. This is going
to be a really fun event, and everyone should sign up! It'll be great to
take weekend off and do a little dancing and hanging out at the beach, so
join us!

USC BALLROOM AND LATIN TEAM

Hi Folks,

It's a 3 day weekend, and what better to do after watching a competition,
and consecutive weekends of dancing but to party?! Better yet, a ballroom
video potluck party! Come watch a variety of movies such as Strictly
Ballroom, Shall we Dance, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Burn the Floor,
or international competition videos on a plasma TV! Meet your fellow team
mates, and also dancers from other schools and organizations! See who and
what is out there!

I will be organizing rides, and food. If you have a favorite dish you'd
like to share, bring it! If you have a favorite ethnic dish, albeit from
Cape Town or Orange County, bring it to share! But if you've got two left
hands in the kitchen, come anyways!

What: Ballroom Video Potluck Party
When: Sunday, Feb. 15
Time: starting 7pm
Where: Tuan's Cave(tm)
       123 S. Figueroa St. #1032

USC Ballroom and Latin Team Outgoing
================
This Sunday, February 8, we're going to Avant Garde for an evening of dining and dancing and showcases! David Lopez and Carina Fourmyle will be performing with their students, providing dinner for guests and giving us all a chance to dance the dances we've been learning for the past semester! If you're interested in coming, please let me know asap so we can work out carpools. Avant Garde is in Orange County and the evening will cost each person $15 (which is really cheap for dinner AND dancing!). If you need a ride or if you have a car and can drive, please email Elena at ebarrant@usc.edu and we'll be leaving probably about 5:30 so we can be there by 7. We'll pay at the door so don't worry about giving money beforehand, but we will need a headcount. Hope to see you all there!
