project undertaken:

Control board for Reflow soldering machine using 32bit ARM controller (Philips LPC2124)
(B.E. Project)

Reflow soldering machine is method for soldering of SMD components. The objective of the project is to design a control board which should provide total control and monitoring of the machine. The controls include 3 to 5 zones of temperature control, speed of the conveyor belt, cooling fan control, storing the profiles, real time clock, printer, LCD and 8 key control, profile monitoring, error and warning report like hood open and over temperature, zone fan control etc. etc.

We have used Philips LPC2124 controller for the control board. This can be operated till 62MHz; it is 32 bit processor with 128 reconfigurable pins. This processor reduced the size of the board greatly as very less number of peripherals are required also it gives more powerful control as it is a 32 bit processor.
