Herb Hughes, Stage Manager
Welcome to the USC School of Cinema Television Stage Services Website. I am Herb Hughes, the Stage Manager here and want to do all I can to help you make your student films. If you are looking for information on the stages, their equipment, power sources, or just want to talk then I am the person to see. I have over 40 years experience in the motion picture industry, having worked at Universal, Paramount, Warner Brothers, Fox and most notably Walt Disney Pictures.
If you have any questions, I am located in the Gold Room right between the Lloyd and Carson Stages. I am there from 8 am until 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. You can reach me to 213-821-1625 and if I do not answer, you can leave a voicemail. My email is Hhughes@usc.edu.
Before you can use the Lloyd or Carson Stage on the USC campus for your student preoductions, you must see me and get a Stage Check out. Upon completing this check out, I will add you name to the list of approved people in the Cinema Operations Office. This will allow you to check out the keys needed to access the stage. You must get a Stage Check Out every semester.
I oversee the Stages located on the USC Main Campus (Lloyd and Carson) as well as the new Digital Stages recently introduced at the Robert Zemeckis Center for the Digital Arts (Kubrick, Kurosawa, Studio A and Studio C). I also control the HMI Lights for the Cinema School, the grip carts, and electrical distribution units owned by the school. I am also the person to see when there are any problems involved in using the stage equipment. So let me know if there is anything you feel needs attention.
