I am a Ph.D. Student in the Communication Sciences Institute at the University of Southern California (USC). My adviser is Prof. Giuseppe Caire, and I work on the broad areas of Information Theory and Code Design for wireless communication systems. I received my B.E. in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Madras, and my M.Sc.(Engg.) in Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science.
I received the Oakley fellowship from the USC graduate school for the 2007-08 academic year (details here), the 2006 Best Student Paper Award from the Department of Electrical Engineering at USC, and an honourable mention for the 2009 Best Student Paper Award (details here) from the Department of Electrical Engineering at USC.
Update: During Summer 2009, I am interning at Intel Labs, Santa Clara, CA. I will be moving to the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) as a postdoc in August 2009.
