Bienvenida Cordial!! Personal Webpage Of Prabu Sellappan
I am a graduate student at the University of Southern California in the Department of
Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering.
I am originally from Coimbatore, in the southern Indian state of TamilNadu.
I went to high school at Stanes Anglo-Indian High School in Coimbatore. I obtained my Bachelor of Engineering degree
in Mechanical Engg from Coimbatore Institute of Technology. Currently i am pursuing my PhD in Mechanical Engg at USC.
My research interest is in the area of fluid mechanics and heat transfer. My current research focuses on an experimental study of
wake formation behind oscillating cylinders placed in cross flows. Some of the techniques/softwares used in this project are motion control
and data acquisition through LabView, data analysis through Matlab and TecPlot, flow visualization through a gravity drain dye injection mechanism
and Digital Particle Image Velocimetry/Thermometry.
Some of the graduate courses at USC that i have attended: Computational Fluid Dynamics, Engineering Analytical
Methods, Compressible Gas Dynamics, Combustion Physics, Kinetic Theory of Gas Flows in Nano/Micro Scale Environments, Incompressible Flows,
Combustion Physics and Chemistry, Vortex Dynamics.
