Welcome!

My name is Danielle Prahl and I am a student at the University of Southern California.

I grew up in Boston, Massachusetts where I made my home around family and friends.  I attended the Hollow Reed Elementary School, the Brimmer and May School, and Boston Latin High School.  I love traveling, meeting new people, the beatles, concerts, painting, running, football games, and the ocean. In high school, I took art classes and fiddle lessons, and I ran for the track team.  Currently, I am an English Major and an Education Minor.  I am a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and a volunteer for the Joint Educational Project (JEP).  Leaving home and traveling several thousand miles to attend this university has been a life changing experience, and one of the best decisions I have ever made.

In fourth grade, when my class was asked to draw pictures of what they wanted to be when they grew up, I drew myself wearing my teacher's favorite sweater that she wore almost every day.  I knew at that moment that I wanted to be a teacher and try to be the amazing role model and inspiration that all of my teachers have been for me.  The most important parts of my life are the relationships I develop and maintain.  They are what have made me who I am today.  I especially want to recognize the teachers who have had the greatest impact on my life and who have inspired me to become one of them: Ellen McGill (art teacher), Jenee Palmer (7th and 11th grade English teacher), Rachel Skerritt (12th grade English teacher), Misty Tripoli (dance instructor), and Joel Colbert (Education Professor).  One day I hope to teach in schools throughout the country, from elementary schools in Southern California, to high schools in Boston.

I would also like to thank my mother, Cynthia Curtner, my father, Eric Prahl, my sister, Chloe, and the Rameys (my second family).  You mean the world to me, and I cannot thank you enough for helping me become who I am.  I love you.
