League Round Robin Every Monday, we will be holding a round robin for all players. Please come PROMPTLY by 8:00 pm in order to get a good warm-up and so that we can start on time. We will start the matches SHARP at 8:30 pm, anybody coming late will be defaulted unless they call up before 8:30 pm. Format The League competition will have two skill divisions: A (advanced: above 1600 USA Table Tennis (USATT) rating points) and B (beginner/intermediate: below 1600 USATT rating points). There will be round robin groups of 4 - 6 people, each followed by single elimination between the winners of each group. All games are up to 11 points, best of 5 in a match. (subject to change) All players will get a league rating that allows them to compare themselves with players all across the country. (*Note: The league ratings and USATT ratings are different. You cannot play in a USATT tournament with just a league rating. If you would like to compete in a table tennis tournament sanctioned by the USATT, visit usatt.org to get a USATT membership. If you are a college student and would like to save some money on the membership fee, ask one of the officers or email us.) Prizes Here comes the good part. Players who perform well in both divisions will be rewarded with prizes! A Group: Winner and Finalist of the round robin each week receive money depending on
the number of people who competed:
B Group: Winner of the round robin each week receives one 3-pack of 3-star balls, valued at $3 - $5. Ratings To check your results and rating, go to ratingscentral.com and click on "players" to look up your rating. Alternatively, you may click on "events" to view our recent league matches. Click the club that indicates the USC Ping Pong Posse league, and you will see a list of everyone who played and how your score was affected. Remember, come on time, bring your paddle and let's start winning some prizes!! |
