Here is my experience at John Adams Middle School for the first time.  I picked this observation because I believe it gives a good overall perspective of the students in the school and the teacher I observed.  There will be more to come later in the semester!

Subject: My first visit to John Adams Middle School

I would have to say, like all of you, I found the lack of diversity in the school to be the most interesting.  The first day that I observed the class I asked the teacher how she felt about having mostly students of hispanic descent in her classroom and if there was any language barriers.  She told me that when she first started teaching at the school about five years ago she asked herself the same question.  But in all she said that the students were fluent in English and it has not been a problem since.

What I also found interesting about the class that I am observing is how under control the teacher has her class.  The students are very respectful and each morning the teacher says "Hello class."  And they respond "Hello Ms. Shah."
