I believe that every child no matter their race or ethnicity could have an equal opportunity when it comes to receiving the best education possible.  As a teacher I would to make learning a process that can be fun, and instill in students that an education is a very vital tool toward any aspect in life.  I would like my students to be open and aware of other cultures and uniqueness that every student possesses.

The most influential teacher that I had was in sixth grade.  She taught me that learning can be fun.  Growing up I never liked to read, especially on my pass time.  However, she made me see that not all books had to be “school related.”.  She enabled me to find subjects that I liked such as mysteries, horror, and science fiction.  I remember going to the library and checking out a “Nancy Drew” book.  When I got home and started to read I couldn’t put the book down.  Because math has always been a subject that I love I would like to inspire students to feel the same way as I did my first time reading a book for fun.
