Vu Nguyen is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Science, Vietnam National University - HCMC, Vietnam. He completed his Ph.D. in software engineering from the Center for Systems and Software Engineering (CSSE), University of Southern California (USC) in 2010. His dissertation introduces extensions to the COCOMO model for specifically and better estimating size and effort of software maintenance projects. His Ph.D. advisor is Dr. Barry Boehm. Vu has been working in the COCOMO and CodeCount groups at the center. Broadly, his research interests in software engineering include software estimation, maintenance, and processes.

Vu Nguyen has obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Science, National University of Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam and a Master of Science from University of Southern California (USC) under the Fulbright Program.
