| Successful in Activism! Truly active since January 2004, the chapter has already won many awards including the Juanita Jackson Mitchell Award, College Chapter of the Year Award, a Mahogany award for Best Programming in 2004 and for Campus Activism in 2005. Recently, the group registered over 170 new voters, helped the union organizing efforts of the Hotel Workers in Los Angeles, educated and informed young voters through a get out the vote event entitled “Operation Activism,” and held forums on important issues such as police brutality, education, health, and employment. |

Growth in Numbers! Since January 2004 the USC NAACP has grown to become the largest chapter in the western region (including 9 states and 2 countries). Membership numbers are calculated through counting the total paying members with completed applications. Under the leadership of Membership Chair Kourtney Celestine and President Gina Clayton the USC NAACP currently has 100 members on its roster as of summer 2005! [help this number grow!] |
