About Us

As the premier women's undergraduate business organization at USC, the Marshall Women's Leadership Board provides an opportunity for undergraduate women to network with professionals, faculty, administration, and students at Marshall. MWLB serves as both a professional and social organization for the top female business students at USC. Feel free to browse through our website to get a feel for our organization, get to know our members, and see what we do. We welcome new members at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters, so if you are interested in joining, please click here.

Marshall Women's Leadership Board meets at least twice a month on Tuesday evenings. Our events include regular meetings, panels, guest speakers, career- and leadership-related workshops, social outings/excursions, community service events, and also semester retreats. Our goal for these events is to foster leadership qualities in our members by providing a place where bright and talented women can come together to share ideas and experiences, learn about different career paths, network, and together develop into strong leaders in business.

History

In September 1999, Dr. Suzanne Savary, Professor of Business Communication, and Sandy Buchan, former Director of Undergraduate Student Services, invited the top female business students to discuss the idea of establishing an organization focused on the development of female business leaders. After a lively discussion, enthusiasm filled the room and that night the MWLB was born. The Marshall Women's Leadership Board is Marshall's first organization dedicated to female undergraduate business students.

Leadership

Our organization is led by an executive board. The board, which is headed by the MWLB president, consists of the following four committees. Each committee is headed by a VP as well as a director that supports the VP.
