Michael Hino is a Master's student in the Geographic Information Science and Technology (MGIST) Program at the University of Southern California. He obtained two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Geography with a GIS emphasis and Environmental Studies from the University of California Santa Barbara. Currently, he is a GIS analyst at Long Beach Transit (2011 to present) conducting spatial analysis of the transit system for ways to better serve the community. He has also done development work in web mapping applications using Flash with integration to SharePoint and designs and maintains all of LBT's spatial data including Google Transit, Bing Transit, and Apple Maps information. Michael has also presented developments at the GIS in Transit Conference. He expects to graduate in 2017 aiming to develop skills in customization, automation, web, and mobile in GIS. His interests include collecting maps, exploring, mapping trips on his motorcycle, and creating spatial representations.
