Educational Philosophy

I was lucky enough to grow up with teachers who were truly devoted to teaching, so from a very young age, I have wanted to be a teacher.  A teacher has such a significant influence on a child’s life, especially in elementary school.  In my opinion, one of the hardest things to find are great teacher, and children will always need great teachers.  Sadly, although each child deserves a good education and a wonderful teacher, they do not all get those things.  I know that I could provide children with a good education, and this is why I feel it is my job and responsibility to make a difference in at least a few children’s education.

I know that you only get one chance to make a first impression, so as an educator, I would like to make my student’s first impression of school, education, learning and teachers an amazing one that they will never forget.  I want to give students the same things that I was given as a student.  If I can make learning fun, creative, thorough and rewarding for my students, I will know that I have done my job.

If my students leave me with an open mind, an abundance of knowledge and good memory of their time with me, I would be extremely happy.   If they leave me wanting to be an educator and give to students what I gave to them, it would be the best compliment, and nothing could be more rewarding.
