I have recently begun working at Los Angeles Metro. Within the Metro environmental services department, I am working toward getting approval for a study to assess food deserts in the county and their relationships with Metro’s public transit services. If there are “dry” spots, then I will push for Metro to begin operation of “food loops” - bus routes specifically tailored to connect food desert communities with healthy grocery locations.
