  "intersex" designates individuals with medically established attributes of both the male and female sex.
  
  "transgender" refers to an individual who lives as the gender opposite their biological sex. this has nothing to do with sexual orientation, ie heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual. "transsexual" designates an individual whose gender identity differs from the sex assigned at birth.
  
  "genderqueer" is a term that combines gender and sexual identities and has many presentations - basically, it eliminates the binary gender system.
