Mahdi Ebrahimian is a PhD candidate in Earthquake Engineering-Strong Motion Research Group at University of Southern California. He came to USC as a PhD fellow in fall 2010. His research objective is to use simple physical models to grasp nature of building response during earthquakes and possible use of such models for structural health monitoring purposes. His other research interests include wave propagation, earthquake engineering and structural dynamics.  Mahdi received his MSc in structural engineering in 2010 and his BSc in civil engineering in 2007, both from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran.
