Zeta Sigma Phi, Sorority:
Nine years ago at the University of Southern California, eight dynamic women founded a sorority to make a difference…
…a difference to enhance the lives of strong, smart, beautiful women
…a difference to transform the image of the stereotypical sorority girl
…a difference to empower women at USC in reaching academic goals while they enrich their social and philanthropic lives at USC and in the local community
…a difference in YOUR college experience.

Our sorority is known for being a beautifully diverse, multicultural sisterhood of women from African-American, Caucasian, Chinese, Filipino, Hawaiian, Hispanic, Indian, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Singaporean, Thai, and many other ethnic backgrounds. We celebrate our history with pride of our accomplishments in academics, philanthropy, and diversity. Every year, we are the only sorority on campus to host an annual cultural and musical showcase: Spring Culture Night (SCN).

We recognize that each sister contributes something genuinely unique to both the sorority and the community as a whole. Our women are not only friends, but they are sisters-always there for one another now, and in the days and years to come.

With a focus on academics, culture and the enrichment of social/community life, Zeta Sigma Phi stands apart from other sororities.

Zeta Phi Rho, Fraternity:
A brotherhood unlike any other, Zeta Phi Rho strives to promote its growth and further establishes the foundations of traditions that future classes and chapters will uphold and teach to new brothers. As a community service based fraternity, Zeta Phi Rho serves as a focal point to bring together the variety of talents and strengths within each member, whether it be social, academic, or athletic ability, and utilize them not just for creating new leaders but most importantly for our larger endeavors for the community.

What distinguishes Zeta Phi Rho from other fraternities is the brotherhood shared between every member of every chapter. Having recently crossed the Zeta Chapter at the University of California at Irvine, the family is now six chapters strong, a tight network of brothers in which each chapter continuously supports the others. Zeta Phi Rho is not one fraternity on one campus, nor is it a multitude of dislocated fraternities under the same name, but one fraternity on all campuses across southern California. Additionally, while Zeta Phi Rho is not the stereotypical fraternity, it is also not a gang. We are Distinguished Gentlemen, men of a unique nature, instilled with the Cardinal Principles. Zeta Phi Rho is not just a fraternity-it is a way of life, which we have engraved in our hearts. Thus, we do not feel like we are "better" than other people. Our brotherhood has no rivalry. Zeta Phi Rho is neither superior nor inferior to, but Distinguished Above All Others.

Lambda Theta Nu, Sorority:
When the opportunity to establish the first known Latina Sorority in the region presented itself, some came with great eagerness, while others were extremely cautious. A handful of Latina women were in search of something that would enhance their college experience, though not all of them realized the historic value this event would hold.

Seventeen long years later, we're still here. We are stronger than ever, beautiful as ever, and yet, still humble. There is something that emanates from a Lambda's presence, something that makes everyone know that you are proud to be a part of something so sacred, so special, and so full of love and respect, that you can't help but smile. We know who we are, we know how we are, and we know where we've come from and where we're going. The Tau Chapter of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc., established November 10, 2001 at USC continues to strengthen the beautiful legacy that our sisterhood has built.

Lambda Theta Phi, Fraternity:
Lambda Theta Phi is the largest and oldest Latino Fraternity in the United States. We have established chapters in all of the major regions of the United States. There are over 70 chapters in schools such as Cornell University, Yale University, Michigan State, University of Miami, Texas A&M, and 12 schools in California.

Lambda Theta Phi was established at USC on March of 2000. Since then the brothers of Lambda Theta Phi have faced many barriers on campus, which they have slowly overcome. Our brothers are what have made this chapter so successful in such short time.

Being part of a small organization on campus has many benefits. For example: You play a large role in the future of this chapter; you mold the fraternity into whatever you want instead of letting a fraternity mold you; you get to know the brothers a lot better; you will likely hold an important position in the chapter; be a part of history and help build an empire.

Sigma Delta Alpha, Fraternity:
Excellence and Loyalty Amongst Brothers is not only our credo, but also a way of life. The brothers of Sigma Delta Alpha abide by five purposes:

1. To support each other academically, socially and personally.
2. To encourage the promotion and retention of Latinos and other underrepresented groups at institution of higher learning.
3. To work with other organizations and our communities
4. To promote Latino culture to the community
5. To conduct ourselves so as to cast only a positive light upon the Fraternity, ourselves and our community

Brothers of Sigma Delta Alpha are university men who embody the spirit of brotherhood and assist each other in achieving academic goals. We are a proud fraternity that acknowledges a shared cultural heritage. We represent our people in the world of academia and we strive to be positive role models to the youth of our communities.

Twenty-one dedicated students founded the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Delta Alpha at the University of Southern California on April 22, 1995. Since our establishment, we have earned respect from our peers staff and faculty. We have also worked intensely to build a solid foundation and maintain a proud tradition. Part of this tradition includes maintaining an above average retention rate among Latinos.

Sigma Theta Psi, Sorority:
Sigma Theta Psi was formed on November 13, 1991 in San Jose California by 18 women seeking to solidify and immortalize the values and responsibilities that embodied their persons. They strive to share their message of cultural diversity, respect and compassion with other women. Through our unity and sisterhood, we continue to embrace our diverse cultures and excel in our life's ambitions. By the means of honesty, loyalty, respect, open-mindedness, leadership and academic excellence, we carry forth the vision of these 18 women.

Academics are our number one priority. As students at the University of Southern California, we offer support in achieving our academic and professional goals. By stressing the importance of academic excellence, we prepare our members to become successful members in a competitive working world. Additionally Sigma Theta Psi maintains excellent relations amongst a diverse pool of tradition and ethnic Greek organizations as well as other cultural, professional and academic organizations in schools across California. Our programming includes outreach to these various organizations as we help support each other in our endeavors, whether it is community service, philanthropy, parties, fundraisers or networking opportunities.

Sigma Theta Psi actively participates in various 5K walks to benefit organizations that raise money for research. We also distribute important information during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but our most successful events are our annual philanthropy Basketball Tournament and "Hush-Hush" Basket Auction, in which thousands of dollars have been raised to benefit our philanthropy.

Sigma Lambda Gamma, Sorority:
On October 22, 1989, a group of women gathered at the Chicano Native American Cultural Center to form an organization of Latina women at the University of Iowa. Their goal was to form a group that would provide social and academic support to Latinas and women of all cultures. After a lot of hard work and dedication, the Panhellenic Council at the University of Iowa recognized Sigma Lambda Gamma as a sorority on April 9, 1990, the date that is now known as our founding date.

Sigma Lambda Gamma is the largest historically Latina-based multi-cultural sorority in the United States. We are an organization dedicated to promoting the empowerment of women in higher education. Our primary goal is to foster our evolving and diverse cultures by sharing them with others through our five principles, which are Academics, Morals and Ethics, Community Service, Cultural Awareness, and Social Interaction.

Tau Theta Pi, Sorority:
On November 24, 1998, the Founding Chapter of Tau Theta Pi was established at the University of Southern California. Our nine Founding Mothers came together with the ardent desire to perpetuate unity, humanity and excellence. We welcome women from all walks of life, recognizing the value of diversity.

Community involvement plays a vital role in our sisterhood. Our philanthropies are the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Adopt-A-Beach program. We also participate in reading to children, feeding the homeless, and various volunteer opportunities. Furthermore, we realize the value of staying informed about current issues in the government. During this past year, we have supported a local politician advocating minority rights and representation.

The sisters of Tau Theta Pi are involved in a wide range of activities on campus and off. Each woman offers a unique background and experience. Although there is no single mold we all conform to, our bonds are strengthened in our efforts to foster personal growth and make lasting impressions in our community, at school, within our organization, and within ourselves - ultimately enriching the college experience.

Omega Phi Beta, Colony:
Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on March 15, 1989 at the University at Albany, State University of New York. Seventeen dedicated women of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds came together to create an outlet for women to initiate political and social change. Although our orientation is Latina, we are open to women of all cultural backgrounds; as is evident through our current, diverse membership. Omega Phi Beta's success thrives on our organization's ability to embrace each member's differences.

Community Service: As we organize and participate in events that benefit our communities, we keep in mind our focus to serve and educate through remembering our roots as women from all walks of life. We must never forget the challenges of our ancestors and what their trials and triumphs have taught us. From them, we have learned where we stand in the present and where we must take our community in the future.

At USC: We are a group of very ethnically diverse women who just recently reached the Radiance of the Omega Phi Beta sisterhood. Our USC Colony, the first on the West Coast, will be our organization's root for expansion on this side of the country. Both on campus and in the surrounding community, we plan to be politically, socially and academically active in order to uphold the prestige and respect our members have strived to create on the East Coast. Additionally, we plan to promote the need for unity amongst USC students and community members of different cultural social and economic backgrounds through the education of our commonalities, cultural awareness and the acceptance of our differences.
