A little about us...
Welcome... While keeping an open mind to mainstream Greek
Life, members of MGC have also prided ourselves on our individual
traditions and tightly knit community, trying to promote a more
intimate environment between members, something quite difficult
to maintain when chapter membership climbs to the arena of 30 plus.
All the chapters within MGC will stress that we search for quality,
not quantity, and do not see our smaller numbers as a disadvantage
but rather an advantage due to the formation of stronger bonds between
fewer members. One of the pluses of being involved with an MGC fraternity
or sorority is that membership fees and dues are much smaller than
our companion Greeks at Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic
Council, due to less expenses of a smaller membership and other
factors. If you believe you have something to offer the Greek community
and want to get more involved, visit our table and sign up for rush.
Remember - Rush MGC!
The university's Greek community is comprised of 5 councils:
AGC, IFC, MGC, NPHC and PHC. The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)
enjoys the advantage of comprising a group of fraternities and sororities
that embrace diversity and multiculturalism. MGC currently has 5
fraternities (Alpha Epsilon Omega, Zeta Phi Rho, Lambda Theta Phi, Lambda Upsilon Lambda & Sigma Delta Alpha)
and 7 sororities (Zeta Sigma Phi, Lambda Theta Nu, Sigma Theta Psi,
Sigma Lambda Gamma, Tau Theta Pi, Omega Phi Beta & the Armenian Interest Sorority) under its
wing.

Purpose
The objectives of MGC shall include
• To facilitate the successful deployment of the values, interests and endeavors of its constituent chapters;
• To promote a fair and safe environment among its constituent chapters and members under guidelines set forth by the University of Southern California (USC) and the Office of Residential and Greek Life of USC, and
• To have and exercise any and all powers and privileges now or hereafter conferred by the authority of the Office of Residential and Greek Life of USC upon its component chapters also formed under such jurisdiction.
History
Founded 1996: Four organizations--Zeta Sigma Phi, Zeta Phi Rho, Sigma Delta Alpha and Sigma Theta Psi--from very different backgrounds (Multicultural, Asian and Latino) banded together to form a council that addressed for the first time the need for ethnic diversity in Greek Life. While Less than a decade old, MGC has come a long was in its goal to foster diversity. From the many philanthropic endeavors to social gatherings and committment to an underserved surrounding community MGC has built many strong bonds that help to reinforce the objectives listed above. The next major goal for this council is to gain campus recognition in order to make diversity a serious issue in Greek and campus life
