Murtaza Bulut
is a senior scientist in the Digital Signal Processing group in Philips
Research Labs in He received his B.Sc. in
electrical and electronics engineering from He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the His PhD thesis was on the
analysis of acoustic characteristics of emotions and their application for
emotional speech synthesis. His work has been
regularly published in the major journals and conferences in the field. He serves as a reviewer
for IEEE Transactions on Speech and Audio Processing, and is a member of the IEEE
Signal Processing Society and the IEEE Computer Society. His research interests are
in digital signal processing, speech and image processing, human emotions,
human-machine communication and interaction, fuzzy logic, neural networks,
