Short Biography

 

 

Murtaza Bulut is a senior scientist in the Digital Signal Processing group in Philips Research Labs in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

 

He received his B.Sc. in electrical and electronics engineering from Bilkent University, Ankara in 2000.

 

He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles in 2002 and 2007, respectively.

 

His PhD thesis was on the analysis of acoustic characteristics of emotions and their application for emotional speech synthesis.

 

His work has been regularly published in the major journals and conferences in the field.

 

He serves as a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Speech and Audio Processing, and is a member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society and the IEEE Computer Society.

 

His research interests are in digital signal processing, speech and image processing, human emotions, human-machine communication and interaction, fuzzy logic, neural networks, and statistical signal processing.
