Mark received his Masters in coastal geomorphology in North Carolina and came to USC in 2000.  He is pursuing a Ph.D. in fluvio-coastal geomorphology under the direction of Dr. Bernard Bauer in collaboration with Dr. John Wilson.  His research looks at suspended sediment routing through the tidal river network on the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta in central California using detailed field measurements and hydrodynamic computer modeling.

He has taught labs for GEOG 260 - Natural Hazards and GEOG 265 - The Water Planet.  He is supported by a Merit Fellowship.
