USC Marathon Team
Running the L.A. marathon last year was one of the most exciting things I have done in my life. For sure. I never had run a marathon before that. In my home country, marathons are not part of our culture, so running the marathon was like tasting a bit of the U.S. and the multicultural Los Angeles.

During the training, I worked
very hard, had knee injuries, saved money to buy my pair of shoes,
changed my eating habits, stopped drinking alcohol before every long
run, enjoyed every cold morning in Santa Monica, Palos Verdes, Redondo
Beach and around campus, complained when we ran while it was raining, but the
reward was the marathon day. That day, everybody cheered up the USC
team, and I remember a woman shouting to me "You are the true hero."
Well, that day I ran 26.2 miles!
