Some quotes:
"Real men wear tights"
"Bodyglide, never leave home without it"
"Are we there yet? How about now? How about now? Now?"
On pain:
I found that running on worn shoes can be painful. I'm pretty hard on my
shoes and tend to step heavy on the outside of the heel(specially the left,
I don't know why). I guess uneven wear emphasizes this motion, and long runs
on unevenly worn shoes can be painful for me (my feet and left leg start to
hurt).
When replacing running shoes go to a runners store, and wear your shoes. I
found that showing them the wear pattern can help them help you choose the
right shoe. More expensive is not always better.
On clothing:
Target has some cool stuff. They have cool max running socks, shorts, and
shirts at OK prices.
On timing:
I spent $150 on a watch from Garmin. It's got GPS built in and tells me
exactly how many miles I've been running, as well as current pace, pace and
distance alarms. It cost more than I would have liked, but it helps me
maintain pace on lazy days.
