USC Marathon Team

3:40. A tasty run this year; overall I went into the run with far
fewer injuries and -- most importantly -- it was nice and cool out. I
ran the first 18 or so with Drew, and he slowed down and I sped up
(according to plan) and I added a few negative splits. This time cuts
off 27 minutes off my prior PR, the PV Marathon last year. One minute
off every mile. I doubt I can remove another minute and still have
fun. No complaints whatsoever, though.

At the end

Great showing from the sidelines. Elise was several places along the course, and my parents came down and took photos of anyone with a USC shirt on as they went by. Most everyone stuck around for a few hours afterward to meet and cheer for everyone as they came in, and then the crazy biker people all found our bikes locked away in the stairwell where we had to walk a 1/2 mile out of the way to get to them. But we made it. Still very sore the next week, though... if you can't walk for several days, you did your best.
It was a great season -- thanks to everyone who came out and finished up the race with us. I hope Major Jim, Drew, and I proved satisfying to everyone.

hope to see lots of people next year...
