I am a student here at USC, and I currently work for Professional Education Services. I am studying business and economics, but my major might change soon.
When the time comes, you'll never want to be in a position where you can't work with your hands. Or at least know enough so that if stranded somewhere without shelter, you could build a structure well enough to protect yourself and your family, if the need ever arose. However, most people won't ever come up against such harsh conditions. Mainly though you should familiarize yourself with all aspects of home improvement, because when you do own a home, you really have to know quite a bit about how to take care of leaks, and cracks, and bugs, to name a few.
